DescriptionEclipta has the synonym Eclipta prostrata The leaves of Eclipta are used as a remedy for liver and kidney problems in Traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine. Also used in Traditional Caribbean folk culture as a remedy for asthma, bronchitis, dizziness and vertigo. Juice of the leaf used in Asia as a topical application to restore and darken hair. Plant juice contains a black dye. Eclipta is native to temperate and tropical eastern and southern Asia and is adaptable to most well- drained soils. Prefers protected sunny positions. Drought and frost tender. A perennial plant in warm climates, growing to 1.2m x 1m. | |||||||
