DescriptionFennel is an ancient, edible herb; it’s seeds, root bulb and greens have traditionally been used as a food source in Europe. A tea from the crushed seeds is used as a mouth wash for gum inflamations and sore throats. Approved by German Commission E as a remedy for bronchitis, coughs ad indigestion. Known as Shatapushpa in Ayervedic medicine. A hardy plant that will grow almost anywhere. The clusters of yellow flowers in summer attract bees to the garden. Fennel is a native of the Mediterranean and prefers well drained soils in an open sunny position. Drought and frost resistant. Herbaceous perennial plant, growing to 1.5m x 1.0m.
