DescriptionFrench Sorrel is a bitter tasting plant, its broad leaves with their citrus notes enliven the flavour of soups, sauces, salads, omelettes, quiche etc. Due to the high vitamin content, sorrel was used to prevent scurry. A diuretic and kidney tonic. Used as gargle to treat sore throats. An essential plant in every garden. French Sorrel is a native of southern France and prefers rocky, well drained soils in protected sunny position. Frost resistant but drought tender. A perennial plant of alpine regions, growing to 1m x 0.3m.
