DescriptionCentaury is also known as European Centaury. One of the traditional bitter herbs of the Gentian family. Has equivalent medicinal activity to Yellow Gentian but is much easier to grow. A tea made from the leaves may be useful to diabetics for lowering the blood glucose level. Used as a Bach Flower Remedy. Centaury is native of Europe and North Africa and prefers well drained, chalky soils in an open, sunny position. Drought and frost resistant. An annual or biennial plant, growing to 0.45m x 0.5m.
