DescriptionDark red fruit, long and thin. Cayenne is the benchmark chilli in spice and medicinal preparations. Hot, but not the hottest. All chilli species originate from Central and South America and prefer rich well limed soils in a protected sunny position. Drought and frost tender. Perennial plant in warmer climate, growing to 0.6m. Requires hot and growing conditions to mature fruit.
