Blue Indigo is sometimes called False Indigo. A plant producing a blue dye plant, whose root is interchangeable with Wild Indigo. Produces a feast of blue, pea shaped, flowers.Blue Indigo is native to North America. Prefers well-drained, light textured soils in an open, sunny position. Frost resistant but drought tender. Perennial bush, growing to 1.5m x 1.0m. Terminal sprays of flowers occur in spring.
