English Chamomile is also known as Lawn Chamomile and Roman Chamomile. This is the Chamomile of herb lawns and is thus cultivated broadly. Plants grow in a manner to form an interlocking, robust mat that may be maintained as you would a conventional lawn. Best utilised in shady areas. Aromatic ferny leaves may be used as wash, etc. English Chamomile is native to UK and Europe and prefers well drained soils in a protected, partially shaded position. Flowers in summer. Drought and frost resistant. A perennial ground cover, growing to 0.3m x 0.3m. Short lived seed.
