The leaves of Cinquefoil are very high in tannin and are used for the temporary relief of fevers and to heal sores. An ingredient in love potions and used as a special bait to catch or stun fish. Cinquefoil is a native of Europe and prefers dry, light, well drained soils in an open, sunny position. Saucer shaped yellow flowers in summer. Frost resistant but drought tender. A perennial plant, growing to 0.15m x 0.25m.
