Apple sized fruit with white or yellow creamy, custard like pulp that has an excellent sweet banana and peaches flavour. Ripe fruit is usually eaten raw by scooping out the flesh with a spoon. Flushes of flowers occur several times a year – heavy bearers of fruit. Suitable to grow in a container. White Sapote is native to Mexico and prefers a well drained soil in a protected and sunny position. Drought resistant but frost tender. Evergreen tree growing to 10m.
