Yellow Dock is sometimes known as Curled Dock. When used as a vegetable the water must be changed once to remove oxalic acid. The seeds are very high in Vitamin C and are a useful folk remedy for scurry. Folk use of the roots as a remedy for anemia, slipped disk and constipation. Roots are a good source of iron. A yellow dye is extracted from the roots. Yellow Dock is native to Europe and is adaptable to most soils and positions. Drought and frost resistant. A perennial plant, growing to 1m x 0.5m.
