Description
Chinese Aconite, Aconitum carmichaeli. is also known as Fu-zi and is an important herb in TCM to tonify kidneys and warming the internal fire. A very attractive plant with extraordinary light blue flowers. The entire plant, including the herb, root and seed are extremely poisonous when taken in sufficient dose. Any external use must be carefully moderated. Not a herb for self medication. Chinese Aconite is indigenous to China and prefers moist, loamy soils in a protected, semi-shaded position. Frost resistant but drought tender. A hardy herbaceous perennial plant, growing to a height of 1m x 0.5m. Aconite may become dormant over summer in some climates.
