The leaves of Goats Rue plant, Galega officinalis, are traditionally used in Europe to clot milk in cheese production. Folk medicine in Europe utilises the leaf to increase lactation in feeding mothers. Veterinary use of the leaf is as a feed for diary herds to increase milk production. Goats Rue plant is indigenous to the Mediterranean area and prefers deep, moist, well-drained soils in an open sunny position. Drought and frost sensitive. Herbaceous perennial, growing to 1m x 1m.
