Description
Hawthorn plant, Crataegus monogyna, is a thorny bush to small tree that are part of the traditional hedgerows in England. Makes an impenetrable hedge and produces a mass of showy blossoms in spring. The leaves, flowers and berries make a tea or tincture that is revered in treating heart conditions. Hawthorn is native to Europe and is adaptable to most soils in an open sunny position. Drought and frost resistant. A deciduous tree, growing to 8m x 3m.
Plants in larger quantities are seasonally available as bare root and dormant.
