Sweet Marjoram is the traditional herbal flavouring in salads, meat and savoury dishes. Aids the digestion of rich and fatty foods. The base for herbal tea. The leaves are a herbal remedy for upset stomachs, asthma and diarrhoea. Oil is used as a rub for pain. Sweet Marjoram is native to Portugal and Asia and prefers a sandy, well drained soil with a pH of 7-8 in an open sunny position. Drought and frost resistant. Perennial in warmer areas, annual in temperate regions. Growing to 0.4m x 0.4m.
