Saltbush, Atriplex nummularia, is commonly called Old Man Saltbush. A native fodder plant utalised in the inland semi-arid and arid regions of mainland Australia. This plant is very adaptable and can do well in moist soils and conditions. Can tolerate severe droughts and periodic flooding. Recovers well after severe defoliation. Prefers well drained soil in a sunny position. Wind pollinated. Flowers occur throughout the year. Male and female flowers occur on seperate plants.
