Description
Winter Savory, Satureja montana, is a digestive and food flavouring. A traditional salad herb, the leaves are also used a remedy for bronchitis and intestinal gas. Crushed leaves used as poultice to treat bee stings. Winter Savory is a native of southern Europe. and prefers poor stony, well drained soils in an open, sunny position. Pale purple flowers occur in clusters in summer. Frost resistant but drought tender. A perennial plant, growing to 0.3m x 0.5m.
