Sweet Leaf plant, Sauropus androgynus, should not be confused with Stevia, Stevia rebaudiana, which is sometimes called Sweetleaf.
Sweet Leaf is a leafy green perennial vegetable. Leaves and tip of the stems are eaten and sometimes known as tropical asparagus. NOTE; Leaves must be cooked before eating. Do not use raw as it may be harmful to your health. Sweet Leaf is native to tropical Asia and prefers warm and humid conditions. Will grow in cooler conditions, but will not be as vigorous. Frost tender. Grows to 2-5m.
