Tulsi seed, Ocimum tenuflorium syn; Ocimum sanctum, is the basil of Ayurvedic medicine. Traditionally used to treat ringworm, malaria and dysentery. Antibacterial and antifungal properties. Sacred to Krishna and Vishnu, used in Hindu homes to protect the spirit of the family. Tulsi is native to India and Malaysia. Annual, growing to 0.5m. Sow Tulsi seed into warm soil.
This cultivar is best for gardens in temperate areas – good, easy medicine. Tulsi plants are also seasonally available.
