Description
Water Celery plant, Oenanthe javanica, is also known as Water Parsley, Water Dropwort and Chinese Celery. Water Celery has a strong celery flavour and can be grown all year round in the warmer parts of Australia. May be eaten in salads, as a vegetable and to flavour rice. Combines particularly well with beef. White roots are also edible. Water Celery plant is native to Asia including northern Australia, preferring wet areas, beside or in water. Sunny to partially shaded position. Frost and drought tender. Clumping perennial,. growing to 0.4m x 0.3m. Umbels of tiny white flowers.
