Description
Brazilian Cherry plant, Eugenia uniflora, is also known as Surinam Cherry. A fast growing, prolific bearing fruit tree. Medium to large berries are sub-acid in taste and are delicious eaten fresh, or as a jam. High in Vitamin C. Delicate white flowers attract bees to the garden. Ideal to grow as a hedge or tub specimen. Brazilian Cherry plant is native to South America and prefers rich, well- composted, moist soils in a protected, partially shaded position. Drought and frost tender. Perennial shrub growing to 3m x 3m. The fruit are dark red, edible berries, produced in late spring.
