Description
Figwort, Scrophularia nodosa, is an ancient medicinal herb. Traditional European folk use of leaves as a remedy for skin disorders, including bruises. The plant is an active part of the Eli Jones Cancer Syrup. Note: do not take internally, due to potential toxicity in depressing heart function. Figwort is a native to Europe and prefers moist, well drained soils. Plant in a shaded protected position. Tube shaped brownish flowers in spring. Frost resistant but drought tender. A perennial plant growing to 1.5m x 1.0m.
