Forsythia, Forsythia suspensa, is sometimes known as Golden Bells. Forsythia is an important anti-bacterial herb to the Chinese. The fruit contains agents that are effective against a wide range of bacteria and fungi. Also effective against inflammations, to reduce fever and increase the immune system. Forsythis is a native of China and is adaptable to most soils but prefers an open, sunny position. Bell shaped yellow flowers in spring. Frost resistant but drought tender. A deciduous shrub, growing to 3m x 2m.
