This is the finely flavoured herb of French cooking. French Tarragon plant, Artemisia dracunculus, is a spice and seasoning for salads, soups and meat dishes – delightful with chicken. A poultice of leaves used as a remedy for toothache. The essential oil used in aromatherapy. French Tarragon plant is a native of Europe and prefers well drained soils in an open, sunny position. Clusters of tiny yellowish-white flowers appearing in summer. Drought and frost resistant. A perennial growing to 0.6m x 0.3m.
