Maralroot, Leuzea carthamoides, is sometimes called Leuzea. Maralroot is aherb with remarkable metabolic and tonic effects. An adaptogen that assist in faster recovery from physical and emotional exertion. Promotes anabolic-type growth without the associated side effects. Contains ecdysteriods. Maralroot is native to Siberia. Prefers deep, rich well-drained soil in an open, sunny position. Violet coloured flowers produced from the second year. Drought and frost resistant. A perennial plant, growing to 1.6m x 0.6m.
