Description
Motherwort plant, Leonurus cardiaca, is a folk remedy to regulate menstrual pain, to encourage menstruation, to normalise menstruation and to assist in childbirth. Also a remedy to regulate heart beat and associated anxiety. Downy pink flowers attract bees to the garden. The plant produces a dark green dye. Motherwort plant is a native of Europe. Adaptable to most well drained soils in an open, sunny position. Flowers are pink or white and appear in late summer. Frost resistant but drought tender. A perennial plant, growing to 1m x 1m.
