Description
Chinese Polygala, Polygala tenuifolia, is also known as Chinese Senega and Siberian Milkweed. An immunostimulant, used in Traditional Chinese Medicine as an expectorant of the upper respiratory tract and a tonic for the heart. Calms the spirit and allows chi to flow. Used to treat depression, particularly in cases of excessive brooding and pent up emotions. Chinese Polygala is native to China and prefers well drained soils in a partially shaded position. Frost and drought tolerant. Herbaceous perennial, growing to 0.6m x 0.3m.
