Skullcap plant, Scutellaria lateriflora, is sometimes known as Virginian Skullcap. An effective nervine tonic. In demand as a garden remedy for nervous headaches and stress. An infusion of leaves is also a good bedtime tea. Skullcap plant is a native of North America and prefers rich, damp soils in an open, sunny position. Flowers are pale lilac, appearing summer. Frost resistant but drought tender. A creeping, herbaceous perennial, growing to 0.6m x 1.5m.
